I’ve always been a keen hill-walker but my first love was running. I was an enthusiastic club athlete, competing over distances from 800m to marathon, cross country and (occasional) fell and mountain races before dodgy knees, hips and will-power intervened.

I’m a relative newcomer to the club and greatly enjoy the opportunities it offers to spend monthly weekends away in the hills with like-minded people.

When not being rained, hailed or snowed on in England, Scotland or Wales I like to spend time in the Montjoie Valley in the French Alps, drinking wine, eating cheese and sometimes walking up mountains.
